Overview

The Mississippi Delta Council for Farm Workers Opportunities, Inc. (MDC/FWOI) is seeking a highly organized and proactive Administrative Assistant to play a crucial role in supporting our team in Clarksdale, MS. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, efficient, and reliable, able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to the executive team and program staff.
  • Manage and maintain executive schedules, including meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements.
  • Prepare and edit correspondence, reports, presentations, and other documents.
  • Answer and direct phone calls, take messages and handle inquiries.
  • Coordinate and organize meetings, including preparing agendas, taking minutes, and distributing materials.
  • Maintain office supplies inventory and place orders as needed.
  • Handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Assist in the preparation of grant proposals and reports.
  • Manage and update databases and contact lists.
  • Perform general office duties such as filing, photocopying, and scanning documents.
  • Assist with event planning and coordination for workshops, training sessions, and community events.
  • Provide excellent customer service to visitors, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of administrative or office management experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Familiarity with office equipment, including printers, copiers, and fax machines.
  • Knowledge of basic bookkeeping and financial record-keeping.
  • Experience working in a non-profit or community-based organization is a plus.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
