Overview
The Mississippi Delta Council for Farm Workers Opportunities, Inc. (MDC/FWOI) is seeking a highly organized and proactive Administrative Assistant to play a crucial role in supporting our team in Clarksdale, MS. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, efficient, and reliable, able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the executive team and program staff.
- Manage and maintain executive schedules, including meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements.
- Prepare and edit correspondence, reports, presentations, and other documents.
- Answer and direct phone calls, take messages and handle inquiries.
- Coordinate and organize meetings, including preparing agendas, taking minutes, and distributing materials.
- Maintain office supplies inventory and place orders as needed.
- Handle confidential information with discretion.
- Assist in the preparation of grant proposals and reports.
- Manage and update databases and contact lists.
- Perform general office duties such as filing, photocopying, and scanning documents.
- Assist with event planning and coordination for workshops, training sessions, and community events.
- Provide excellent customer service to visitors, clients, and stakeholders.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of administrative or office management experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Familiarity with office equipment, including printers, copiers, and fax machines.
- Knowledge of basic bookkeeping and financial record-keeping.
- Experience working in a non-profit or community-based organization is a plus.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
